Holloway Araminta

Minty is by the Connemara stallion Hearnesbrook New Moon, out of a Caspian mare.

She is well handled, good with farrier, loads and travel well. She has had her teeth checked and rasped with no issues found. Fully vaccinated against flu and tetanus.

Due to our relocation earlier in the year, Minty was away with family members, so wasn't doing the ground work that our others were doing. Since joining us in Devon a few weeks ago, Minty has done the tiniest amount of lunging and long-reining and has been sat on a handful of times. She has never shown any sign of resistance and takes absolutely everything in her stride, but she is exceptionally green. She has been ridden off the lead rein in an open field and behaved perfectly, but obviously requires more education to further her understanding.

We believe Minty will make an exceptional childrens pony due to her uncomplicated, unflappable temperament.

She does have some white hairs on a hind leg, due to a field injury as a foal.

Her sire Hearnesbrook New Moon has shown huge versatility, competing successfully up to BE100 in eventing, showjumping at pony foxhunter level (1.10m) and most notably enjoying a hugely successful career in working hunter pony classes, where she had numerous wins and placings at prestigious shows such as the Royal Windsor, Royal International and HOYS.

Minty's Caspian dam Lanhill Alima is a career broodmare, now sold to France. She is a lovely mover and made a lovely shape over a fence when loose jumped. Most of her older progeny (all full Caspian) are in breeding homes, but one is in a riding school, where he is ridden by children of all abilities.
